SCREWS: DOME HEAD
"Domed head" screws are defined by their head type, the head has a domed appearance and a flat bearing surface. The head height is approximately half of its diameter and typically features a slot drive.
Domed head screws are a variation of a Cheese head screws, but more decorative and less likely to snag clothing, they feature a deep head, which permits a deep recess, making them well-suited to a slot drive and were very common in machine manufacture in the early days of manufacture before the advent of other drive systems, as the flat bladed screw driver was less likely to slip, thus more torque could be applied.Dome head screws are frequently available with hexagon or other modern drive type sockets.
