HOWEVER Customers need to be aware that if we supply this pump it may well cavitate on hot days and the rubber hoses may permeate fuel smell (happens with the Bosch kit as well to a certain extent). The pumps did this when they were new and with the latest fuel being much more volatile, the pump is considerably more prone to this than it was in the 1970's. If this happens the car will stop.
None of these issues will be accepted as a warranty as it is a feature of the original equipment when used with modern fuels.

In light of this we developed, with Bosch UK an alternative system that works faultlessly as long as the remainder of the system is in good order and in particular the petrol tank is rust free and of the 'anti-surge' type. The Bosch pump numbers is RTR4050XK and the appropriate petrol tanks if a new one is needed is 312359XALK or 312359XA. This type of Bosch pump kit is not to be confused with others on the market that we have found do not live up to expectations.
