CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE

Aluminium Petrol tank TR2 57litres (12.5 gallons) capacity. The tank is internally baffled as per the original and has the advantage over reproduction steel tanks in that it can't rust.

This tank is only made to special order with an attendant time delay, it has straight sides and its shape precluded the fitting of an original occasional rear seat fitted to later TR3 and 3A's. It is common practice to use the smaller capacity TR3A tank 302125AL, giving more cockpit room when a later tank board is fitted. The tank straps will usually need shortening. The stainless steel version is 302125SS. As 301235AL and 301235SS are only made to special order, a more practical solution is to use the later TR3-3A tank 302125AL. See below Pros and cons of aluminium and stainless steel tanks. Aluminium tanks are cheaper, readily available and light. If not installed very carefully without being put under any strain however, they can crack. Stainless steel tanks are very expensive, only made to special order and are heavy. They are much less prone to cracking than aluminium. Both of course will not corrode which is the major disadvantage with mild steel tanks.
