The none swaged end of this part is as per the original. With no swage it is possible for the hose to slip off if the torque drops off the clip. To improve the security of the hose RevingtonTR recommends shot blasting or roughing up with course emery cloth, the material so there is a good surface for the hose to grip and reduce the risk of the hose coming adrift. This part being made from stainless steel we feel, is a greatly improved product over the original design. We also suggested using an adhesive, like Heldite (TDC5001-125), on the hose as well to ensure the hose is securely fixed to the pipe. If the hose does come off it can lead to you having a very hot, water heated ankle!
