TR2-3B Rear overrider Distance Piece. This machined part has a male thread one end and a female thread the other; it replaces tube 602001 and long bolt HB606441. The original tube 602001 and bolt HB606441 that supports the rear overrider spring is rarely used these days as it is almost impossible to remove the bolt after a short time in service as the bolt and tube corrode together.

Once corroded together disassembly is often impossible resulting in an angle grinder or hacksaw being the removal tools rather than spanners!

Two distance pieces are required per car. 

Neil Revington found this out when rebuilding his TR2 in 1970 and as a young aircraft engineering apprentice designed this simple modification to overcome the problem, Hawker Siddeley very kindly (and unknowingly!) made a pair that are on Neil s TR2 to this day. RevingtonTR have designed and developed a huge range of parts and equipment to enhance the enjoyment of TR's over the years but this simple modification can claim to be the first.

You will need a few screw, nut and washers to fit the distance pieces as follows: -

4   x 3/8UNF x 1" screws.

4   x plain nut

6   x Spring washer

10 x Plain washer

4   x special overrider bolts
