Spring returning carburettor spindle. One spring is fitted to each throttle spindle on 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" H series SU carburettors (not HS). For TR's, the parts books correctly show two springs of the same type (direction of wire wind) as the springs are fitted at the same end (forward) of each carburettor.

A similar spring was used by SU, wound in the opposite direction, for use where the springs were fitted to the rear of the carburettor. Be aware of this if using second hand parts as the wrong part will slip and not work correctly.
