Additional cost to modify an 'A' type overdrive for quick operation. The unit comes with the solenoid fitted.
'A' type overdrives are rebuilt and uprated on a like for like basis with whatever main case is supplied. A significantly quicker operation can be achieved by fine tuning tolerances and the use of an uprated clutch in all usually available 'A' type units.
However for the most arduous Race or Rally purposes, a main case with a 1 ¾" accumulator piston and 1‑3/8" operating pistons will be required. these are far from easy to find these days. In instances where it really is necessary (for FIA cars for example) we will find a suitable case and it will be charged extra.
Customers should consider out newly developed 'J' type quick operation units RTR1017-1 and RTR1017-2 below.
