TR2-4A Stainless Steel Extractor Manifold, four into one, mandrel bent with primary lengths as equal as is practicable.
This manifold has a lug welded on to accept a dynamo-alternator heat shield. Order shield part number RTR2067
This manifold is part of our complete exhaust system part number RTR2074K consisting of manifold, rally style exhaust system and fitting kit; it is supplied without the exhaust system and exhaust system fitting kit under this part number. The manifold has been designed to sit as high as possible in the chassis for maximum ground clearance. We use this manifold on our own Rally Cars.
The manifold is designed for maximum flow with primary tubes having an internal diameter of 38mm; as a result the 4 pipes are arranged in a 'square' configuration. Pipe no. 2 can touch the chassis flange; it therefore may be necessary to grind away a small amount of the chassis flange to afford 5mm clearance around the pipe. Please be prepared for this when ordering this manifold.
The outlet has an internal diameter of 54mm (2 1/8") and an outside diameter of 57mm (2 ¼") and all pipes are mandrel bent to maximise gas flow (Mandrel bending does not reduce the pipe cross sectional area [CSA] at the bend where as ordinary bending reduces the CSA considerably impeding gas flow).
Whilst fitting the manifold we recommend wrapping with exhaust wrap to reduce heat in the engine bay. Order exhaust wrap RTR2114 or RTR2115. See below for details of this and suitable exhausts.
NOTE: TR2-3 owners with low port heads will need to file out the mounting holes slightly to utilise this extractor manifold as it is specifically intended to fit a high port head. We have however successfully fitted the manifold to low ports heads, with the ports lined up correctly in our own workshops.
This manifold cannot be used with a TR2-3 bomb type starter motor fitted, but is fine with the later bendix type starter motor found on TR3A-4 and geared starters by now retro fitted to many TR2-3. If necessary order a geared starter to suit, see below and section 8 'Electrical Systems' of our catalogue and web site for suitable units.
The manifold will fit with the original generator (dynamo) and most common alternators.
Please enquire for suitable TR4A exhaust systems.
