This Bracket is screwed under the brake/clutch pedal box of TR2-4 s to allow fitment of a mechanical brake light switch acting directly on the brake pedal; order switch part no. 134529 and nut NP608091.

The hydraulic switch has these disadvantages: -
In its original place it is too close to an extractor manifold
With dual circuit brakes on TR2-4A it will only work on one circuit.
If it fails the hydraulics need to be disturbed to change it.
A switch operating directly onto the brake pedal, supported by this bracket overcomes these problems. TR4A s have a mechanical switch as standard in the engine bay, however should you wish to move the switch to the cabin (essential when dual circuit brakes are fitted) then this bracket is the one to use.

To fit: The bracket is positioned under the pedal box with the switch in place so that it will be actioned by the brake pedal.
Two holes are then drilled in the pedal box to attach the bracket by two self-tapping screws.
It may be necessary to produce an extension wiring harness to connect from the original harness to the switch in its new position. Revington TR can provide such a wiring harness to your dimensions and end fitting specification if required.

A word of caution for RHD car owners. We have seen many cars with the accelerator pedal bent as a result of the action of a heavy right foot. This can happen when the pedal stop is either maladjusted or missing. Once the pedal is bent the owner usually adjusts the carburettor operating rods to get full throttle again not knowing the root cause is a bent pedal. The problem here is that the part of the pedal that passes over the brake and clutch pedals (the cross bar) is now much too high and occupies the space where our bracket and switch want to live. If you find there is not enough space above the accelerator pedal cross bar for the bracket and switch, the accelerator pedal can be adjusted as follow:-
Push the pedal fully down and place a stout piece of wood between the cross bar and the underside of the brake/clutch pedal box. Pull up the pedal with some force to a new position. In general the cross bar should be 50-60mm below the pedal box when at rest; leaving plenty of room for the switch and bracket. Be sure to readjust the accelerator pedal stop and the carburettor link bars after this adjustment to ensure idle and full throttle are correctly set.
Another possible cause is an incorrect throttle to carburettor operating rod. If this were too short the pedal would sit too high.
On LHD cars the accelerator pedal does not cross the brake/clutch pedal box therefore the potential interference mentioned above for RHD cars does not apply.
