The damper mount strengtheners supplied in this kit are not easy to fit to TR2-early TR3A with sloping rear floors. The body needs to be lifted at the back or some strengtheners left off where no access is available for welding. The kit is easy to fit on cars fitted with post TS60000 body shells with flat rear floors or when the body is separated from the chassis.

Our chassis strengthening kits are based on the strengthening that was applied to the chassis used on the works TR4 rally cars. The full kit RTR7084-2K is an exact replication of the works additions, Revington TR copied and recorded all the modifications, small or large when we rebuilt 4VC and reconfirmed this when we rebuilt 6VC and then 3VC.

Kits RTR7084-1K, RTR7084-3K, RTR7243K, RTR7236-1K and RTR7236-2K are variations on full kit RTR7084-2K as described under each individual part number.

Kit RTR7236-1K addresses the following weaknesses: -

Strengthening at the front reinforces the following areas:
Lower wishbone support brackets, 8 places
Engine mountings, 2 places
Radiator shield, extends upwards under the front apron and doubles as an anti-roll bar (sway bar) support
Radiator shield gussets 4 places

Strengthening in the middle reinforces the following areas:
Side under tray, 2 places
Side impact box sections, 2 places

Strengthening at the rear reinforces the following areas:
Rear spring front eye mount, 2 places
Rear shackle mount, 8 places
Rear damper support strengthening, 8 individual strakes to reinforce the DAS9 damper mounts which are retained
Rear brake hose support bracket, new part to lift the hose well above chassis line.
