Stiffener on rear damper bracket TR3-4

This rear damper mount stiffener was not fitted to TR2 which had no stiffeners attached. An improved stronger bracket was introduced during TR3 production from Comm. No. TS8637 and continued throughout TR4 production with these stiffeners RTR7289 fitted.

The TR2 bracket 107475 was certainly not up to the job and was prone to tearing out of the chassis due to the pivoting action of the rear lever arm damper.

Although these additional stiffeners were fitted to the TR3-4 mounts parts numbers 110788 and 110789, a further improvement is recommended in the form of stiffener kit RTR7118K.

TR4 rally cars used the larger dampers (DAS10) and therefore larger and even stiffer mounting bracketry (RTR7043K) which can be substituted on TR2-4 chassis where the work the car is being put to dictates the need.
