FUEL TANK SENDER TR4-6 FUL ADJ
CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE
High quality Fuel sender unit TR4, 4A, 250, 5 and TR6. The float arm of this versatile fuel sender unit can be adjusted in two dimensions, for height and reach of the float arm to suit various tank dimensions. The mounting plate of this unit has the normal 6 screw attachment to suit the TR fuel tank.
This sender unit should be considered whether you have a standard tank or an extra capacity tank as you will enjoy the benefits of more accurate fuel tank contents reading on your fuel gauge. This high quality part is far more stable, giving more stable readings and has a higher longevity expectation than the standard aftermarket replacement TR4-6 unit part number 214465 currently available.
The characteristics of this sender unit can be varied in two ways. The top mounting plate has attached to it a vertical post to which the resistor pack with its moving arm can be slid up and down to position it at various locations. This adjustment will take account of various tank depths. Secondly the length of the swinging arm with the float on it can be varied to ensure full and empty readings are accurate. In the photograph the parts are shown disassembled, they are assembled on installation at which time the position of the resistor pack and float are set in accordance with a chart and full instructions supplied with the kit.
For reference the resistance range of this sender unit will nominally read 240 Ohms empty to 20 Ohms full and is therefore suitable to drive all TR4-6 standard original Bi-Metal fuel gauges particularly gauges with a part number on the face starting BF, as well as our range of replacement new gauges for these cars which are also Bi-Metal and therefore require the same resistive range sender unit. The unit can of course be used to drive any instrument that is designed to work within the resistive range mentioned above.
A simpler version is available, part number 214465-1 which allows one dimension of adjustment rather than two. See the link to this product below.
Earlier TR2-3B gauges are of the 'moving iron' type requiring part number RTR8514 which is a similar unit with a different resister pack.
