TR2-4 Bump stop kit Polyurethane. This main bump stop kit is an improvement on the standard part 115456, is fitted around the axle and acts as both a bump and a rebound stop.

This product developed jointly by SuperPro Europe Ltd. and Revington TR is an improvement which has been needed for some time. The original Bump stops fitted to TR2-4 are a rubber product which is less than perfect for two reasons. Firstly the Rubber degrades quickly in the presence of grease and oil as well as the affects of the atmosphere.Secondly the original design was intended to be held in place by wire binding.

This wire binding is almost impossible to fit with the axle fitted to the car. When replacement bump stops are fitted with the original style binding (usually badly fitted due to lack of access) or with more modern tie wraps they are prone to becoming displaced and eventually falling off the axle tube.

This new kit overcomes both these problems.
The polyurethane material is impervious to grease oil and the affects of the atmosphere and will therefor remain an effective bump/rebound stop for considerably longer than the original rubber product.

Secondly as can be seen in the photograph a lip has been introduced to the edge of the product enabling modern tie wraps to be used to secure the bump stops without fear of them becoming loose.

The kit comprises two bump stops and four tie wraps sufficient to service one axle. The kit is designed to be a correct fit to the 'Girling' axle originally fitted to TR3(late)-TR4.

Many earlier TR2's and 3's will now have had the later axle fitted therefor the kit will be appropriate. If however you have the earlier 'Lockheed' axle fitted it will be necessary to snip a small amount of material from the join to ensure a snug fit on the axle tube.

In addition a further buffer RTR3468 is fitted to the underside of the rear floor of TR4's only to prevent the axle pinion casing travelling to far north.
