Obviously, it was necessary to stay in the original style, but some improvements were necessary for some reasons:·
Add some control instruments that I consider "useful"·
Improve accuracy which was still "very relative" at the time.·
Improve the lighting control system. The technique having made progress since then, I should not hesitate to take advantage of it. See picture 
 

LARGE INSTRUMENTS. 

NEIL provided me with an electronic tachometer: My ignition system being " fully programmable 123 TUNE", but without the plug for the cable, the electronics were a good option, with a possibility of customizing the scale, which I did by gaining a few rpm, my engine mobile parts being lightened and engine breathing improved. 
NEIL provided me also an electronic speedometer: Like the tachometer the design is consistent with the original. The speed reading point is a pulse sensor that I placed at the overdrive output and reads the coupling screw heads. Easy to program according to axle ratio and tire size. In fact, the speed indication was erratic while the totalizer was correct. Strange isn't? Neil explained to me that the cause was unequal bolt spacing on the prop flange (bolts were in a rectangular pattern). OK so I returned 2 opposite screws to increase the clearance and get only two targets instead of four, reprogrammed accordingly and it works very well............ 

 

SMALL INSTRUMENTS.       

Originally the precision was very relative, and the scale small and not graduated on some (C .... H !!). I therefore chose a modern and very precise version by installing VDO Single Viu with a scale of 270 °. Also, a red internal alarm indicator can be programmed for min. and max. chosen readings In addition, I added the fuel pressure as well as the oil temperature. To place all of this, I sacrificed the rheostat and the left ventilation.
In place of the radio, I added a lambda indicator and a vacuum indicator. This is useful for diagnosis and to see if there is any drift over time.
Instead of the original overdrive control, I installed a switch for a booster pump, that I switch on when the fuel level alarm comes on (1/4). 
MISC. SWITCHES. No heating control, because no heating anymore, just the fan. I also removed the headlight control on foot and with a mix of switches, I get the pilot lights / low beams with a pull switch on the bottom console and headlights / spot lights on the column. All with relays & fuses/ breakers. Overdrive,as already said in the transmission chapter, a 40mm rod which controls Neil's "logic" module.
