Engine

Neil Revington talks though the engine.

The engine like most of the car looked like it had been worked on, but... nothing must be left to chance and a strip down was in order. It was no surprise that all was not as it seemed for example the cam had a lobe missing but rather than replace the cam, the person who had been in the engine at that time figured just changing a few (not all) cam followers was good enough. Not good enough for me, so I rebuilt he engine again although it really didn't need many parts, just doing properly. interestingly the engine number is not to be found in the usual place, it is stamped just in front of the distributor pedestal.

This is the only number visible on the engine

Nothing to be seen in the usual place.

The engine has been rebuilt to a high standard but to an absolutely standard specification, as it  was when it left the factory.

Very poor condition of big end bearings before the rebuild
